Star Wars has further tied the Death Star's legacy to Luke Skywalker in a very exciting way. In 2023, Marvel's canonical Star Wars comics set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi have begun to reveal the origins of Luke Skywalker's green-bladed lightsaber. To that end, it's been revealed that the Death Star's very inception is intrinsically tied to the creation of Luke's lightsaber.

Star Wars: New Jedi Order director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy provides an update on her forthcoming sequel that suggests production could be starting imminently. After seemingly bidding farewell to the character at the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, it was confirmed last year that Daisy Ridley will return as Rey for a new sequel. Three episodes explored Ahsoka’s life before she joined the Jedi Order, her training with her Master, Anakin Skywalker, and her life just after the horrific events of Order 66, while the other half of the first season dove into Count Dooku’s life while he was still part of the Jedi Order, including his relationship with Qui-Gon Jinn and his disillusionment with the Jedi’s way of life.
